Customisable for special scoring systems
How it started...
OARS321 was originally developed for yacht regattas where existing PC based sail scoring software could not accomodate the specific needs of the regatta, which included gated passage races, subseries results and additional combined class scoring. It was decided to make it server based so that the start and finish times could be entered from multiple sites and the results displayed instantly on the regatta website. The club also used it to score their various weekly fleet race series, as well as special sailing events and long distance rallies.
It was later expanded to also include online event registration, including a boat database, so that a boat could easily be entered into multiple events without duplicating entry form details.
After many years of use and customisation it was made available to other clubs so they could take advantage of the
minimal personel requirements to produce instant results for all to view online. It links to the RORC IRC database so that if any IRC certified boats update their certificates the boat entry will automatically be updated.
The system is constantly being updated as new requirements emerge, and it has been customised for other races such as cycling, running, swimming and motor racing.
